For Cass and Lucas, their journey together begins like all the best twenty-first century love stories: online. So many of our favourite modern-day romances begin this way!
The perfect proposal opportunity fell in Lucas’s lap: a bridal shoot. The couple would already be modelling in a styled shoot, acting as an engaged pair about to tie the knot on their wedding day. The perfect chance to make it the real deal. No need to sneakily conspire with her besties to make sure she’s got her nails done and a white dress on for the occasion. It all would already be done and perfectly planned, camera at the ready to capture the moment. He worked with the vendors they were shooting for to plan the whole moment, everyone was in on it, and Cass received the shock of her life when he got down on one knee mid-shot to propose with the real ring. A perfectly executed surprise!
“Lucas and I were lucky enough to do a wedding style photo shoot for some of the best vendors out there. Little did I know, he planned with them later on to also make it a surprise engagement. I was in total shock for a couple days!”
Which Madi Lane gown did you fall in love with, and why?
Cass found her dream dress at Tilted Veil East, knowing Thane was the ‘one’ as soon as she tried it on. The perfect dress for a modern fairytale wedding. “I fell in love with the detachable sleeves, the lace with the sparkle, and how long the train was.” The cold didn’t deter her from the figure-hugging, strapless fit. Finding the perfect bridal cape and cover-ups to keep her warm (and still so glam!) the entire winter day.
Where did you get married? Tell us about the location, and style of your wedding.
The big day took place in snowy Nova Scotia at Lightfoot and Wolfville Vineyards, the perfect warming and rustic backdrop for a winter wedding. They kept the wedding contemporary, while embracing the cold for their photos, which are nothing short of magical.
What was your favourite moment from the big day?
This question is never easy to answer, with so many unforgettable moments and memories of such a special day. For Cass, although every part of her wedding was so dreamy, she tells us her favourite moment was simply “Looking at my husband when I walked down the aisle.” We love this answer, for it is a memory that can really only be shared by husband and wife. When everyone else fades away, and it is just the two of you for that moment in time, the seconds drawing you closer together – from fiancés to man and wife.
What advice would you share with future Madi Lane Brides?
Cass shares with us the simple truth that continues to be proven time and time again “You’ll know the moment you put it on.”
