How did you meet?
On the night of May 21st, 2021, I had absolutely no plans of going out. Neither did Rafael. but somehow, Fate had other ideas.
We both ended up at the same neighbourhood bar, completely unaware that our lives were about to change. I like to think that the universe gave us a little nudge that night, because the moment we met, something just clicked. It felt easy, natural – like we were always meant to find each other.
From that night on, we never stopped talking. There was no hesitation – just him and me, like it was always supposed to be. Even since that night, it’s been us against the world.
Tell us your proposal story.
It happened in the most ‘us’ way possible – completely unplanned, yet somehow perfect.
It was Winter break, and I had been staying over at Rafael’s house for about five days straight. That was new for us, but something about it just felt right. Neither of us wanted the time to end. I didn’t want to leave, and he didn’t want me to go. His room had become our little world, warm and safe.
We were just talking and laughing, like we always did, when the conversation took a turn. Half joking, half serious. “What if we just got married?” The words slipped out so naturally, as if they had been waiting for the right moment. And just like that, it clicked. It wasn’t a grand, dramatic proposal. No extravagant plans. Just us, in that room, realising that we already knew the answer.
It wasn’t about the timing, the details, or what anyone else would think. It was simple: we didn’t want to be apart, so we decided we wouldn’t be.
Which Madi Lane gown did you fall in love with, and why?
I chose my Madi Lane gown in the second shop I walked into. I walked in that day determined to find my dress. Savoy was the last gown I had tried on and I absolutely loved it. The back buttons, the silhouette, and the laced bow!
Tell us about your wedding.
We chose a gorgeous ranch, surrounded by open skies and nature, the perfect blend of rustic charm and elegance. It was an outdoor celebration, filled with the people we love most – our family and friends, all there to witness the start of our forever. I wanted something timeless, yet effortless. Where nature’s beauty meets a touch of sophistication, and it came together perfectly!
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the twinkle lights we had strung across the ranch came to life. Casting a warm, golden, glow over everything. It was like a dream – the stars above, the soft lights around us, and the love in the air wrapping us up in the most unforgettable moment.
It was us, it was beautiful, and I loved every single second of it.
What was your favourite moment from the big day?
The moment we said “I do!”
What advice would you share with future Madi Lane brides?
Don’t let your body size or shape shut you down from trying different styles. I was really nervous with this style because of my body but I fell in love with it, and everyone said it absolutely complimented me.
