Our real bride Luisa married her first love, Lucas, wearing our glamorous Wade wedding dress! Their destination wedding was something straight out of a dream, celebrating their nuptials in beautiful Portugal.

Luisa and Lucas met through mutual friends at sixteen and seventeen, becoming high school sweethearts. For them, the rest was history as they continued into their adulthood hand in hand, writing their love story every step of the way as they built their life together. It doesn’t get more romantic than that!
“We were so young, and neither of us could have imagined back then how much our lives would grow together. We were each other’s first relationship, and over the years, we truly grew up together. We shared dreams, made plans, made countless decisions side by side, and always followed our hearts together. Looking back, it feels so beautiful to know that the two teenagers who met at school all those years ago are now married, still choosing each other and continuing to build their life and dreams together.“
Lucas proposed in a place that held a special place in both of their hearts. A place they would return to for the day they took their vows.
“Lucas proposed to me in Setúbal, Portugal, right by the harbour. We are both from Germany, but Portugal has always held a very special place in our hearts. Setúbal is my dad’s hometown, and I spent countless holidays there with my family throughout my childhood, making this place incredibly special and meaningful to me. Lucas had also spent holidays in Portugal with his family when he was younger. So, after getting engaged in Portugal, it felt only natural to return to this beautiful country for our wedding. We decided to have a destination wedding in Portugal, bringing together the place that means so much to both of us and the people we love most.“
Which Madi Lane gown did you fall in love with, and why?
Luisa fell in love with our Wade wedding dress for the way it blended romance, modernity and sensuality. Loving the detachable accessories, the delicate lace and figure-hugging fit of the gown.
“The moment I first saw this dress, I was completely drawn to it. In fact, I had already saved it from the website before I ever tried it on, because something about it instantly felt like the one. When I finally saw myself in the mirror wearing it, I just knew: this was my dress. The romantic bodice with its delicate 3D floral appliqués, the long sleeves that give it such a modern feel, the sexy V-shaped silhouette and the beautiful lace – it was everything I had dreamed of, all in one dress. I tried on a few other dresses, but nothing changed that feeling. There was just something about this one. I could have never imagined a dress that felt more like me – modern, feminine, sexy and romantic all at once. From the very first moment I saw it, I somehow knew it would be the one I would walk down the aisle in.”
Where did you get married? Tell us about the location, and style of your wedding.
The couple chose to return to Portugal for their special day, a place they felt represented their story perfectly. Their venue a perfect backdrop to all the elegance of their wedding, with romantic ivy-covered walls and stone buildings that feel straight out of a story book.
“We got married in Alenquer, Portugal, at the beautiful Solar de Pancas, surrounded by just 40 of our closest loved ones. Portugal has always been our happy place, so when it came to our wedding, we decided to simply follow our hearts. We had originally planned to get married in Germany, but at some point we asked ourselves: Why not just do exactly what we want? So we changed all our plans, trusted our feelings and chose Portugal – and it was one of the best decisions we could have made. From the very beginning, we knew this was the right place for us. The atmosphere was incredibly romantic and intimate, with the sun shining, palm trees swaying in the breeze and endless vineyards surrounding us. It felt like our own little world – warm, personal and completely magical. Our destination wedding was everything we had dreamed of and more. A beautiful celebration in our favourite place, surrounded by the people who mean the most to us. It was truly a dream come true.”
What was your favourite moment from the big day?
Luisa’s favourite moments from her wedding day involves sweet interactions with both of the men in her life.
“Honestly, our wedding day was perfect from beginning to end. But one moment will always stand out to me: seeing my dad’s face when he saw me in my wedding dress for the first time – and then seeing Lucas and all of our loved ones seeing me too. That was the moment when everything suddenly felt real. All the excitement, nerves and anticipation disappeared, and I knew: this is it, it’s finally happening. From that moment on, I could simply let go, be present and enjoy every single second of the day. It was the most beautiful feeling – and one I will never forget.”
What advice would you share with future Madi Lane Brides?
“My biggest piece of advice to every Madi Lane bride is: always follow your heart. Try on different styles and explore what suits you – it can help you find out what you truly love. But in the end, choose the dress that makes you feel the most beautiful and, most importantly, the most like yourself, even if it isn’t what everyone else would choose for you.“
