While staying in Bordeaux, the couple met at a party accompanied by their friends. They continued about their lives separately for three more years before something, be it fate or destiny, drew them back together again. Their romance starting with a glass of wine (of course, from Bordeaux), developing into a passion for travelling together to more wineries, and a passion for each other.
“We are from Tahiti and we met each other at some parties with our friends in Bordeaux. We didn’t know at this time we were meant to be together. But 3 years after, we met again at some parties in Tahiti. And we started to write our story.”
Lovers of travelling, their proposal took place in yet another magical city.
“We bought a property together and we were like, ‘how are we supposed to deal if one of us leave this world’? It was like an evidence we had to get married. But he asked my hand in New York in a mini yacht in front of the Statue of Liberty.“
We love how this couple’s story unfolds in entirely their own timeline, building a life together one step at a time.
Tehani fell in love with our Nicola wedding dress for the way it had all the elements she was searching for in her dream dress.
“My criteria were: shoulder straps, an open back, a moderately long train, and subtle nude detailing in certain areas. I loved the subtle use of nude fabric on the dress. The details of the boning, partially visible. The train and the open back. This dress was almost the perfect dress. I just had to adjust the shoulder straps to my convenience. And it was fitting me perfectly. I was so obsessed with this dress that I took it with me to our honeymoon expecting wearing it twice in my life but this time for a photoshoot.”
Tehani and Mihiarii celebrated their marriage in their home, Tahiti, surrounded by their loved ones at the Hilton Hotel.
“The colours were beige, gold, and brown. The flowers were white and pink.“
“The celebration. No seating plan, no traditional sweetheart table — just the freedom for our guests to wander, mingle, and enjoy every space at their own pace. We broke away from tradition to create a celebration that truly reflected who we are. And it turned out exactly as we had hoped.”
“ Trust yourself. It’s your day and it has to be like you are. Don’t feel pressured to follow traditions just to please others.“
Congratulations Tehani and Mihiarii!
